S G VASUDEV - 1941: S G Vasudev did his diploma in Fine Arts from the Government College of Arts & Crafts, Chennai in 1968. Did art direction for national award winning Kannada films “Samskara” and “Vamsha Vriksha.” He has had numerous solo shows all over the country and abroad.
His paintings are part of the collections at renowned museums and art galleries all over India, including the Salar Jung Museum in Hyderabad and the National Gallery of Modern Art in Delhi. They also feature in several private collections the world over.
Vasudev has held one-man shows in India, Canada, Germany and U.S.A. He has participated in several group exhibitions in India and abroad, including Contemporary Indian Art shows in Europe, and shows at the Paris Biennale, India in Japan. He has travelled to Britain, Canada, China, France, Germany and U.S.A. as a cultural delegate, at the invitation of their governments.
Vasudev is the recipient of the Karnataka and Tamil Nadu State and the National Lalit Kala Akademi awards.
He is a founder member of the Cholamandal Artists Village, Madras. He has done the art direction for the National Award-winning Kannada films 'Samskara and Vamsha Vriksha'. He has executed murals in Bangalore, Madras and New York. |
