RAVI KUMAR KASHI: Ravikumar Kashi was born in Bangalore in 1968. He completed his B.F.A. in Painting from College of Fine Arts, Bangalore in 1988. Further he completed M.F.A. in Printmaking from Faculty of Fine Arts, M.S. University of Baroda in 1990 and M.A. in English from Mysore University in 1995. He worked as visiting faulty in Dept of Architecture, R.V. College of Engineering from 1994 to 2004 and Guest Faculty in the Department of Visual Arts, Bangalore University in 2004 - 05. In 2001 he studied handmade papermaking under J. Parry at the Papermaking Resource, Glasgow School of Art, Glasgow, UK, with a grant from the Charles Wallace India Trust. Since 1991 he has had thirteen solo shows In Bangalore, Mumbai, New Delhi, Chennai, and Hyderabad in India and Glasgow in U.K. He has also taken part in number of curated shows, group shows and annual exhibitions in India and in Munich, New York, Singapore, Hong Kong , Glasgow, Perth, Mexico, Toronto including 10th Triennale of India in New Delhi and 11th Asian Art Biennale,Dhaka,Bangladesh. Arad Biennale, Romania. ‘Edge of Desire' traveling show of Indian art being shown in Perth - Australia, New York - USA, Mexico- New Mexico, Toronto - Canada. He has won Karnataka Lalit Kala Akademi award three times and National Award in 2000. He also writes on art in Kannada and English published in various magazines and newspapers
